459. Foreign Policy Dichotomy, or Conundrum?

World powers convening Friday in Tunisia are mapping out a plan to deliver humanitarian aid, call for a cease-fire and give political legitimacy to the Syrian opposition, while details emerged that Arab nations have begun supplying arms to Syrian rebels.

The diplomatic developments follow opposition claims that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's forces are now emulating elsewhere the shelling attacks against the besieged city of Homs that have left hundreds dead. (read more: http://alturl.com/3y6rg)

Los Angeles:  L.A. Lakers star Kobe Bryant has reportedly sworn to wife Vanessa Bryant that he will never, ever stray again if she calls off their divorce and takes him back. Kobe has "aggressively pursued" Vanessa over the last 2-3 weeks, and she's been pretty receptive ... but she still isn't sure the marriage can be resurrected.
He's reportedly given Vanessa a VERY expensive piece of jewelry.
Kobe famously gave Vanessa a $4 million "adultery ring" after she stood by him during his infamous affair / rape trial in 2003 (Bryant was acquitted of all charges). (read more: http://alturl.com/6oqyj)

454. Bad Joke

This DEEP DIVE cARToon was inspired by Jason Stanford's commentary on the re-emergence of Texas Governor, Rick Perry, and what ensued at a republican event in Texas.
The Story has it that a George Washington impersonator's joke went something like:

“A Communist, a Muslim and an illegal alien went into a tavern, And the tavern keeper said, ‘What will it be President Obama?’”

. . . and that got me thinking

Don't foget that back in July of 2009, Henry Louis Gates Jr., the Harvard professor and race-relations expert, and James Crowley, the police sergeant who controversially arrested Mr. Gates, stopped by for a round of brews that President Barack Obama hoped promoted racial comity.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs stated that "The president will drink Bud Light."

453. Whitney Houston, RIP

LOS ANGELES - Whitney Houston, who ruled as pop music's queen until her majestic voice was ravaged by drug use and her regal image was tarnished by erratic behavior and a tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown, has died on the eve of the Grammy Awards she once reigned. She was 48.

Beverly Hills police Lt. Mark Rosen said Houston was pronounced dead Saturday afternoon in her room on the fourth floor of the Beverly Hilton. "There were no obvious signs of any criminal intent," Rosen said.

451. Chuck Norris Endorses Newt Gingrich

SALT LAKE CITY — Chuck Norris — martial artist, film star, author, philanthropist, internet meme, devout Christian and energetic Republican — recently announced his endorsement of presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich.

In his first of two separate articles posted at wnd.com, Norris compared Gingrich to Benjamin Franklin, King David and “others like them.”

“We must remember,” Norris states, “that we’re electing a president, not a pastor or pope. And with the mainstream media and a billion-dollar Obama campaign coffer on the president’s side, we need a veteran of political war who has already fought Goliath, because he will be facing Goliath’s bigger brother. “ (read more http://alturl.com/nzzc7)
