473. NFL Bounty Hunters

The NFL on Friday said an investigation by its security department found that Williams and several New Orleans Saints players employed an illegal bounty system, financially rewarding defensive players for big plays, including knocking opponents out of games during the 2009-11 seasons. After details of the NFL's probe were released, five former Redskins, including defensive end Phillip Daniels, and a former coach told The Washington Post that Williams had a similar system with Washington.

456. Kobe Loves Vanessa

Los Angeles:  L.A. Lakers star Kobe Bryant has reportedly sworn to wife Vanessa Bryant that he will never, ever stray again if she calls off their divorce and takes him back. Kobe has "aggressively pursued" Vanessa over the last 2-3 weeks, and she's been pretty receptive ... but she still isn't sure the marriage can be resurrected.
He's reportedly given Vanessa a VERY expensive piece of jewelry.
Kobe famously gave Vanessa a $4 million "adultery ring" after she stood by him during his infamous affair / rape trial in 2003 (Bryant was acquitted of all charges). (read more: http://alturl.com/6oqyj)

343. Shameful Football Monikers

In 2009, The US Supreme Court let stand a decision by a federal appeals court in Washington that the native Americans had waited too long to bring their challenge to the Washington Redskins trademark, and thus forfeited any right to sue.

The term "redskins" is now, and always has been, a derogatory and offensive term, according to a friend-of-the-court brief filed by the National Congress of American Indians and other major native American tribes and groups.

"The organizations and Indian tribes stand together to express with one voice their collective opinion on the fundamental fact underlying this case: the 'Redskins' trademark is disparaging to native Americans and perpetuates a centuries-old stereotype of native Americans as 'blood-thirsty savages,' 'noble warriors,' and an ethnic group 'frozen in history.' "

Here, here.
